Giving Back

Our goal is to help make things a little bit easier for children undergoing cancer treatment. Throughout Wylie’s own fight, we have faced several hurdles. Most programs aren’t designed either for the child themselves or for very young children. The main focus seems a lot of times to be fighting the disease, but what do you do when your child can’t tell you how they feel or what is going on? How do you help that child grow through some of the most important years of their life? How can a new family make important decisions when life has just started? How can we make the child feel more comfortable during all the treatments? We would like to help families find their answers.

We are currently in our start-up phase as Wylie is just out of treatment. In the past, we have raised money to purchase loveys for children at a few area hospitals, but now we want to expand on that. We not only want to provide loveys and stuffies that can be a constant companion for a child, but we also want to provide educational toys, outfits that can be worn during treatments, blankets, swaddlers, and anything else that can help a child maybe feel a little less stressed as they go through their fight. We also want to be a resource for parents by providing books and other materials for making informed decisions on treatments and care as well as ways to overcome communication challenges. We have several other things planned for next year once we are able to set up some purchasing contracts. We are also hoping at some point to contract with some local photographers so some families can have a memories session.

If you work for or own a business that would like to get involved either through donations or helping us acquire items, please reach out to us via the contact information below.

At present we are not able to help families pay bills; however, depending on location, we may be able to help with a referral.
