Grayson Parker -

Leander, TX

July 2023

One of the biggest fears after treatment ends is that your child may go through this all over again. Unfortunately, Grayson Parker has went through that.

Grayson is 3, almost 4. He was diagnosed with clear cell sarcoma of the kidney in May of 2021. He had the tumor and right kidney removed a few days after diagnoses. He then did 28 weeks of chemotherapy. We had one year of clear scans, and then in December of 2022, he had a brain MRI where they found a tumor. Pathology came back that it was clear cell sarcoma of the kidney so his new diagnosis is metastatic clear cell sarcoma of the kidney. He has had some trouble since his biopsy with his left side so he’s unable to walk unassisted, and we stayed at Dell Children’s December to February alternating between the rehab and the oncology sides. He did four rounds of chemo, and then we went to Texas children’s Houston for stem cell rescue. And md Anderson we just finished 20 radiation sessions today. So we head back to Austin this weekend for another chemo round at dell children’s. Then back to Houston for high dose chemo on April 24. He will need to stay local to Houston for 2-3 weeks after high dose chemo could be longer depending on his blood count levels.

Currently, Grayson’s scans have shown consistent tumor reduciton. We hope that this continues for him so he can have all of this behind him. If you would like to follow along in his journey, they have a Facebook page as well as a GoFundMe.
